Many people are wondering about licorice benefits. Licorice is a herbal plant which is cultivated for its roots. It is derived from Southern Europe and some parts of Asian countries. In the united states licorice is popular as black licorice.

How to Make Licorice

Black Licorice Recipe

Ingredients
  • Butter - 1 cup
  • White sugar - 2 cups
  • Sweetened condensed milk - 1 (14 ounce) can
  • Corn syrup - 1 cup
  • Salt - 1/8 teaspoon
  • Anise extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Black paste food coloring
Procedure

- First take a 9 by 9 inches baking dish with buttered foil. 

- Then place butter in a larger saucepan and melt it over medium heat. 
- Add sugar, corn syrup, milk and salt to it and bring the mixture to boil. 
- Keep stirring the mixture until it boils and then continue heating it but stop stirring. 
- Heat the mixture until it attains 242 degree Fahrenheit. 
- Then, remove it from heat and add black food coloring and anise to it. 
- Pour this liquid into the pan and leave it to cool for several hours. 
- Once it cools completely, remove the foil and cut it into required shape with help of a butter knife. 
- You can wrap these pieces in waxed paper.

After knowing the licorice benefits, now you can consume licorice as you wish. But be aware to not consume it in excess
