  • Firstly, take the roots (at least about 4 oz.).
  • Clean of any dust, stones, pebbles or insects from the roots.
  • Now get a knife and a cutting board. 
  • Slice off the roots to ¼ inch.
  • Get a bowl and fill it with 2 qt. of water. 
  • Place the sliced roots in it and bring the water to a boil. 
  • Let it boil till the water reduces to 1 qt.
  • Thereafter strain the water with the help of a cheesecloth, and reserve.
  • Now get another quart of water and place the roots in it, and boil again. 
  • Let it boil until the water is reduced to a pint. Strain and reserve the liquid.
  • Now make a mix of both the reserved liquids, and boil it for the last time, keeping the pan covered.
  • You have to now let the mixture boil until it is down to 2 oz. For this, you might need several hours.
  • Allow the 2 oz. liquid to cool down, and you have your dandelion root extract ready.
